The Law and Older People: A Handbook for Service Providers

This handbook provides a comprehensive yet accessible account of the law as it applies to older people in Ireland. It sets out the legal rights and entitlements of those aged 65 and over in areas ranging from consumer protection, taxation, pensions, employment, health care, wills, crime and housing. Aimed primarily at those who provide professional services to, or on behalf of older people, the Council hopes that by offering a practical guide to the law, the handbook will assist service providers in ensuring good practice in their dealings with older clients.
